Empowering Change: A Look at theYear So Far

It is always an enormous pleasure to reflect over the year and see the incredible impact we together have had in our local community.  Your unwavering support of LIVEfree Project and your dedication have helped us as we continue to serve the people of our city who are facing hardship, DFV and impacted by trauma. I wanted to highlight some of our recent accomplishments and opportunities we have had to have enduring change in OUR local community.

Recent Accomplishments

LOCAL and NATIONAL RECOGNITION

We are still pinching ourselves that our programs that have been specifically designed for our own local community by LIVEfree Project have received both LOCAL and NATIONAL recognition and prestigious awards.

The Lord Mayor of Newcastle has praised our efforts, and we have been added to the National Honour Roll for our dedication and impactful generational change programs across the city.

Also we have been recognised by

Awards Australia in the Community Achievements Awards for our outstanding work in Connecting Communities - something that we are immensely proud of.

LAUNCHING COMMUNITY-LED PROGRAMS

We have successfully launched several new community outreach programs, our "Community Enrichment Program" helping triage families living on the poverty line, experiencing hardship DV and adverse circumstances, helping feed local community, bringing measures of service advocacy, case management, essential groceries to people who are living below the poverty line to be able to feed their families.

Our Shine On Mentoring Program working with our female youth has been also so needful and crafted to meet the ever growing needs of the emerging women of our community helping them to step into confidence, understand resilience and embrace safety - giving them a voice and helping to empower them for change.

We have seen our GRIT Mentoring Program in its pilot stage - bringing incredible change to the young boys of our region. This s a much sort after program and we feel deeply privileged to be on the cutting edge with our informative educational and engaging programs bringing change to the emerging male youth of our local community.

Deepening the EDUCATIONAL Experience for Emerging Social Workers:

Our educational experience that we give our interns has been recognised by  University of Newcastle as being a preferred place that offers a "coal face experience” and  "supportive learning environment” for their students . Providing  students with their much needed practical community experience to ensure students are industry ready on their graduation. We have enjoyed immensely knowing we are shaping  the futures of emerging Social Welfare workforce in our city and nation.

Things we are continuing to focus on in coming months:

Strengthening Sponsorships & Partnerships: We are working on strengthening our sponsorships and partnerships with local community  to better support our clients in all facets of their lives and help future proof the important work we do here in community.

SO much of that is effective story telling, and getting the word out there of the vital work we are doing in community.

We need your help as we continue to spread the success of LIVEfree Project in places that will give us opportunities for sustainability and help us go father and wider in our care for the most vulnerable f our community - especially the children. We continue to work tirelessly  at creating an incredibly respected and sort after resource for our local community for her children and students, parents and for those who are experiencing DFV, hardship and trauma. .

Volunteer Opportunities: More volunteer opportunities will be available soon, allowing you to get involved and make a direct impact.

Your continued support is vital to our work in our community.

Together, we are reimagining the city of Newcastle and together writing the most incredible STORY of what a committed bunch of ordinary, but passionate people can do in our city.

Thank you for being an integral part of the LIVEfree Project.

With gratitude,

Chris Jones  Executive Director
